Honduras 2020 Trip Report Continued

Below and above, children in recovery, post-o[p/

H

Had to cut short yesterday’s posting, as it kept crashing, perhaps for getting too long? So will continue with my Honduras report today. But, contrary to blog logic, if you were reading the whole trip report in normal chronological order, you would read yesterday first and then continue with today. In any case, please read “next blog” for yesterday and then go on for today—or at least look at the photos in both postings to give you an idea.
Among items donated to health workers in Honduras were disposable gloves and surgical face masks. I wish now that I’d kept a few for myself.

My granddaughter went to San Francisco with her father to attend a military funeral and burial for his brother. I will be glad when she returns to her Florida home.
Since I had to stop abruptly yesterday, will pick up where I left off today, hoping I’m not repeating anything.

Among those  I met with in Tegucigalpa were Luis Knight and his daughter Alexandra, just starting university in the capital. I worked with Luis in La Esperanza when I was in the Peace Corps. He now spends weekdays in the capital, working with the Honduran Red Cross,  trying ti get ahead of the Coronavirus outbreak,

While American print newspapers are shrinking,, those in Honduras, where relatively few people have internet access, still come out daily with 80 to 100 pages, Lurid color photos of crime scenes are common, including this one below of the bodies of a husband-wife murder suicide,

Honduras newspapers print many pages of classified ads, including some in color, below/

I was surprised to see newspaper notifications below with the names and photos of children whose hospital treatment had ended, but no one had shown up to take them home,  Appeals are made to friends and relatives to come to get them,

A full--page color notice below gives advice on the Coronavirus,

After arriving home to  Washington, DC, I was greeted by a flowering tree in th front yard, as             seen from my bedroom window,

Hope all this makes sense, Now, if you haven't already seen the photos and major narrative posted yesterday, of  which this is a continuation, then go ther.e.
