Good morning dear readers, hope that some family and friends out there are actually still reading this blog which has had problems recently. I had just lost a very long blog post once again and my daughter Stephanie has partially resurrected it. Thank you so much for doing that, Steph. I will try now to go on from there.
A blog entry on the internet is not like writing on ancient cave walls or using cuneiform more than 5,000 years ago, or even writing on parchment so many long years ago, as all that has endured intact for thousands of years.
While my own blog entries from 2009 are still there on the previous iteration of this blog honduraspeacecorps.blogspot.com, yesterday's very long post just vanished entirely. I am writing it again now, as much as I can remember, and my daughter Steph certainly has helped. But it will be much shorter this time and who really cares besides me? And as time goes on, I won't even care any more about this post myself either. I've written 2 books (titles above) now still in print on actual physical paper, but do I ever reread them? Hardly ever, and only when looking something up that I am trying to remember. The printed page is much better than just fuzzy memory. But this time, the blog will be posted, whether ready or not. It can be corrected later if actually still exists and has not simply vanished, like the previous long blog post just did.
One thing I do remember from when I was still ill and not going out for a while, that the local price of gas went from $3.99 per gallon to something like $4.34.
I would like to post the Halloween decorations that my son and I saw in a front yard in neighboring Martinsburg, so here they are again now.

- The Procedure: After legal delays, prison officials administered two doses of the lethal drug pentobarbital at the Riverbend Maximum Security Institution in Nashville.
- The Outcome: The drugs failed to kill her. Witnesses reported that Pike continued breathing, snoring, and moving on the gurney for over an hour before the execution was halted and she was rushed by ambulance to a hospital. She has not died there yet.
- Even during her many years in prison, Pike had tried to kill another inmate by choking her with a shoestring, showing that she had never reformed and was still trying to settle a dispute by violence.
- Christa Pike's co-defendant and then-boyfriend was Tadaryl Shipp, who was 17 years old at the time of the 1995 murder, had received a sentence of life in prison because of his age. He is still in prison right now. Tadaryl Shipp was denied parole in October 2025 “due to the seriousness of the offense,” and his case is scheduled to be reviewed again in six years, in October 2031.
