One of my fellow West Va. residents tells me: I'm in a continual state of disbelief at our national circus performance, aka "politics". We just passed the one-eighth mark of the 2nd Trump presidency, although it seems like an eternity. The Republicans are catching some grief in their home districts, I see, which is amusing but doesn't change things much for anyone. Thanks again for writing your blog.

Hola Patricio, thanks to you for writing to me. We still have a long way to go before Trump is out of office. I am now 87 and hope to live to see that happy day. Should you decide to stay for a while in Mexico, that's totally understandable. I have friends who have invited me to Mexico and still other friends in Honduras who are asking me to go back there, so I've been tempted. But now I'm buying a house here in W. Va., which my son and I are living in, so guess I need to stay put for now. If you do go to Mexico, I'd love to get reports from you about your travels there.

How Trump is reshaping government

Though Donald Trump has never been supported by a majority of Americans, the only president in history to never to have reached that milestone, he has been forging ahead.

first 100 days have upended norms in the White House and across the federal government with a slew of executive actions and policies that aim to fulfill his key campaign promises.
It has included the slashing of several agencies, the firings of thousands of federal workers and the skirting of courts amid a wide swath of legal cases challenging the administration.

Scandanavian countries are offering incentives to produce more babies, but with only modest

success. As is happening elsewhere, women there undertake careers and are paring up with men later

in life, shortening the window of opportunity.

Babies in Sweden are often left outside to nap in the cold, thought to have health benefits.

Meanwhile, Trump has been busy deporting Hispanics, who tend to have more babies than native-born folks, and who, on average, are younger than the native-born. This wholesale deportation effort needs to stop. Otherwise, who is going to keep on supporting Mr. Trump, myself, and other senior citizens in our old age? And how will our crops ever get harvested?

The deportations are now affecting American farmers most directly.
