Brrr, it's been reeally quite chilly lately, especially after the sun goes down, as winter is not over yet. But out in the sun during the day, it doesn't feel particularly cold. So far, it's been above freezing during the day around here. My son goes out without a jacket.
A family member living in central Florida tells me that it's been rather cold there recently, so not much better than here..
We've had cold temps here, 30s at night and 50 during the day but with a terrible wind chill factor making it feel like 30-40.
There also has been ICE in Maine, but not only the frozen kind.
Federal officials have launched an ICE operation in Maine and have begun making arrests there. “Everyone is on high alert,” Portland Mayor Mark Dion said. His city and nearby Lewiston have seen a recent influx of migrants and asylum seekers, so Trump wants all of them out. I won't continue to point out how very senseless and counterproductive Trump's immigration policy is. These folks are coming here because we actually need them.
Minneapolis also wants ICE to be gone.

Rahm Emanuel, now age 66, is calling for a mandatory age 75 retirement for U.S. President, Congress, and Supreme Court justices.

Renee Good was shot in the head, autopsy commissioned by her family finds
Renee Good had been shot 3 times, with a shot to the head being the one that killed her.
(Could her tires have been shot instead?) Excessive force was used to solve a minor
traffic problem.
Good was apparently driving away when she was shot, not trying to run over an ICE agent.
Why had she been stopped anyway? Why was deadly force used? Donald Trump has said
he hopes her father is still a Trump "fan", but has not offered any condolences.

Now back to Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, and Greenland, about which there has been much confusion, as well there might be.

Many countries' names underlined above are ones I've actually traveled through or have actually visited myseld. I have been to some 40 countries, some underlined above. But for several others underlined there, I've instead had close friendships and connections with folks there, some of whom have visited me here in the US.
I feel very privileged to have so many friends all around the world who still remain in touch with me by email, such a marvelous invention! No more airmail letters that may or may not arrive, though I once received a letter from a man in an African country with a US $5 bill inside that he asked me to take to his wife, in jail here on immigration charges. Of course, I visited her then in her lockup and provided her with the $5 sent by her husband to her great surprise and delight. Her husband had not forgotten her! I also became her regular visitor, as she had few friends here.
Unfotunately. Israel, with strong US financial and moral support from Donald Trump, is still attacking Gaza.
Israel, in very short order, has gone from being seen as a brave little country established in a hostile environment to now becoming a pariah for much of the world. Nonetheless, the US government still provides major moral and economic support without which Israel would no longer exist.
With so many problems posting here, best to post this now and start fresh tomorrow.
