Starting out fresh once again

Whew! After coming back from Florida and my great-grandson's high school graduation, things got pretty mixed up on the blog. but I hope readers could  make some sense of it all. Let's start over once again from now.

We just had quite a tumuluous last night. My son had left a pot of stew on the electric stove which he forgot to turn off before going to sleep. Then, as might have been expected, the pot and its contents started burning, setting off the smoke alarm at about 3 am this moerning.  After that, my son opened all the windows and doors to let out the smoke. But then he started feeling too cold, so he turned on the heat, but soon felt too hot. I yelled at him to just leave both air conditioning and heat off completely and simply go to bed. By then, it was almost morning.

So we got up and went by the outdoor kiosk where we left off some canned goods for homeless and hungry people, as we periodicially do. Years ago, when my son first came to Berkeley Springs and didn't have a job yet, he used to take a can from there and just eat its contents cold. The cans that we leave there now always get picked up by the next morning, so someone is taking and eating from them.

Pete Hegseth is still on the federal payroll, still calling the shots for Donald Trump. Can't we just get rid of him? He's still responsible for killing surrendering Caribbean boaters, but Trump continues to support him and also supports Netanyahu, both of them blatant war criminals.

I can no longer fuilfill Spanish interpretation requests still reaching me here in Berkeley Springs. Every assignment was a new experience, always interesting, even rather surprising. I entered into strangers' private lives in ways we otherwise rarely do. Of course, I was not even a participant, simply a communications' facilitator, just an outside observer sworn to absolute secrecy, almost like a machine. But if someone had fallen down in front of me, I certainly would have called for help. I witnessed such a wide array of human experiences from childbirth to last words, but cannot tell you any more than that. Of course, I had to pass a very rigorous bilingual oral test, recorded and archived. Native English speakers rarely pass it, although maybe I am not a native English speaker myself, as I learned both English and Spanish when I first started talking.
