Now in May 2025, I am 87 years old. When Donald Trump completes his present term, if I survive that long (hope so), I will then be 91. My mother lived to age 92. I'd love to see Trump gone from the US presidency, gone from power, spending his last days out on the golf course, no longer interfering with the well-being of the rest of humandkind. Then when I die, I can rest in peace. The man seems to consider himself a king--a vertible monarch with over-arching powers, never mind concerns about law and precedence, never mind that his decisions seriously harm others, never mind that he often changes his position without any explanation. He seems to enjoy being mean and hurtful, keeping everyone on edge. He displays a thirst for power, for control over others. How did he get that way? Why? What went wrong in his life? And no one knows how long Donald Trump is going to live. Maybe he will be gone from this earth even before I am. For so many people, that would be a blessing.
President Trump has reportedly suffered recently from excessive jet-lag, falling alseep in important meetings with overseas' counterparts. Is he getting tired of being president?
Trump has started vigorously attacking birthright citizenship, in effect for over 200 years.
(Reuters) -The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday kept in place its block on President Donald Trump's deportations of Venezuelan migrants under a 1798 law historically used only in wartime, faulting his administration for seeking to remove them without adequate due process. (However, Trump routinely ignores court orders.)
Wash. Post, GOP tax bill on track to add more than $2.5 trillion to U.S. deficit The figure is expected to intensify a national debate over spending and tax levels as President Donald Trump tries to push the legislation through Congress.
My DC house (above) is for sale, with an open house this weekend. It's a wonderful house, built in 1895, with 4 working fireplaces, 3 floors, and numerous bathrooms and bedrooms and other amenities. So go to the open house if you can or contact Betsy Rutkowski at Long & Foster, (202) 827-4770.
When son Jon and I were out driving recently near our home now in W. Va., a wild mother goose and her goslings started across the road, so, of course, we yielded the right-of-way. We did not get a photo, but this is what that lively family looked like.
To recapitulate about the fire that consumed Coolfont, the resort in Berkeley Springs, W Va. where my son Jon works, here it was going up in flames back on that fateful day.
After that, see what has been happening there since. Coolfont will rise again from the ashes!
I just received this message from an American friend, formerly a Peace Corps volunteer like me in Honduras, who has now retired there where his retirment dollars go far:
And now a photo from daughter Stephanie in Hawaii.
