Here we go again!

I do enjoy writing the blog and going back to re-read earlier posts. But it does get quite tedious to keep on having to rewrite it after it keeps on vanishing over ad over again. Who can we complain to now? Nobody, as we are completely on our own here. I’m not even sure how to save it anymore, even as a Word document. Everything must be saved in the Cloud, which may not be safe either.
Nothing can be guaranteed, not even that we will still be alive tomorrow. One day, we each and eveyone of us will disappear, vanishing completetly from this mortal life never to return. Maybe our blogs, emails, letters, and books, such as the 2 books I have already written, will remain on this earth somewhat longer. I certainly hope so
I have raised 4 children, but only one is my biological child. She has not given birth to any offpsring and now it is too late for her to do so. My adopted daughter and son do have children who can carry on for all of us.

So, here it goes for the 4th time on this !@#$% blog, with whatever I can still remember from all my efforts during this round. I will try to save it eleswhere until I'm sure it has actually been posted and won't disappear. But at age 87. I don’t have a photographic memory. This time I will be much briefer, so, maybe best to skip right to the present.

Today, on July 17, I told a former neighbor

" I had to try to make a posting today, my 4th try--as all 3 previous ones had disappeared!
It was getting very tedious to keep trying to rewrite the blog, so from now on, maybe shorter and more frequent postings will be in order.
Always good to hear from DC neighbors. I wish I still lived among you, but I could no longer afford to stay."

Like with every couple, every friendship, or any other human relationship, there are always ups and downs. No, the Obamas are not getting divorced! Sorry folks if you were hoping for some juicier details.

I may have posted this image before, but with so many disappearances of the blog, I'm not sure any more what still remains. Better to have this shown twice than not at all.

I had just been commenting last time on Maurene Comey's firing when Whoosh! That was the end of that particular posting. So let's now forget the whole backstory on Maurene. After all, new events keep on unfolding. This next is what I had just posted before the last blog disappearance, so I won't say any more. Readers can take it from there.

Trump faces backlash as 69% believe Epstein details concealed, Reuters/Ipsos poll finds | Reuters

Donald Trump allegedly drew a naked woman as part of a                                                            personalized gift for Jeffrey Epstein’s 50th birthday.

In an exclusive report by The Wall St. Journal, that publication viewed a letter bearing Trump’s name featuring a hand-drawn sketch of a naked woman.

Trump is still urging everyone to just move on from Epstein, move on from that whole saga. But now the focus is on Trump himself, whether he is still fit to be president.

Trump was burned in effigy in Brazil. He has been losing supporters all over the world.

People have begun influencing each other and no longer listening to Trump anymore. These matters can take on a life of their own, with all of us and our friends influencing each other and all creating brand
new popular beliefs. That's what may be happening now.

CNN reports that if 5 Republicans joined the 212 House Democrats on a discharge petition, they could force an Electoral College vote. Here is what was said abut that on CNN.
I am copying the fuling CNN report, posting it on the blog now, and then saying goodnight.

CNN —

President Donald Trump has gone to great lengths in recent days to quash the Jeffrey Epstein fervor in his party. It doesn’t seem to be working — and one particular effort to force the release of more files could spiral out of his control.

Last week, Trump’s Justice Department published an unsigned memo that concluded the sex offender had killed himself and that no so-called client list existed. Since then, Trump has called people who have pushed for more answers – seemingly including GOP members of Congress, top members of his own administration and MAGA influencers – “weaklings” who have been “duped” by a Democratic “hoax.” His consistent message: There’s nothing else to see here, move along.

But Trump allies keep raising questions. A Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday showed nearly as many Republicans disapproved of the administration’s handling of the matter (36%) as approved (40%). And a CNN poll showed 40% of Republicans said they were “dissatisfied” with the government’s disclosures in the Epstein case, while just 4% said they were satisfied.

If Republican members of Congress truly don’t want to let the issue lie, as several have indicated, they have a critical tool at their disposal: a discharge petition.

It’s an arcane procedure with a straightforward premise: If 218 members of the House sign one, they can force a floor vote in the chamber on anything — even if leadership opposes it.

Republican Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky has joined with Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna of California to spearhead a discharge petition that would force a vote to release all of the Epstein files, and it’s showing early signs of life. Two other Republicans said Wednesday they would sign the petition — Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia and Eric Burlison of Missouri.

Massie said five others have signed on to the underlying bill (but not yet the discharge petition). If six Republicans joined all 212 House Democrats on the petition, they could force the vote.
