Is Trump getting tired of being president?

If there are gaps in this post, very sorry; I cannot fix them. So please just bear with me.

Wash. Post, Trump abruptly cancels signing of bipartisan bill on affordable housing

No warning was given.

Experts have described the stalled housing bill as the most comprehensive action from Congress on housing policy in the 21st century. It includes more than 40 provisions that target many housing-related issues.

But hours before he was expected to formalise its provisions into law, Trump posted on social media, saying: "Today's Housing News Conference and Signing is hereby cancelled until such time as we pass the desperately needed SAVE AMERICA ACT, which I consider to be a National Emergency."

The change in plan was a surprise to many on Capitol Hill, including for lawmakers who showed up to the signing only to be told by reporters that Trump had cancelled it.

The SAVE America Act (Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act) is a federal bill that would require voters to provide documentary proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote, and present a valid photo ID to cast a ballot in federal elections. It has been stalled in the Senate.

Pete Hegseth Just Fired Gen. Chris Donahue. Maybe He Was Too Brave

Of course, Hegseth is an idiot and so is Trump for keeping him on. Democrats need to prevail at the midterms, as waiting until Trump leaves office is too long.

Venezuela earthquakes live updates: At least 164 dead and nearly 1,000 injured after powerful twin tremors

The U.S. Geological Survey said the death toll in Venezuela would likely run into the thousands. What can you do if there is an earthquake? Usually nothing, as it occurs suddenly without warning. Very scary, especially if tremors continue and no one knows when they might stop. Venezuela sits on a fault line, so is prone to earthquakes.

I recall sitting in my home office back in DC during a minor quake causing nicknacks to fall off shelves, some of them breaking. Then just when I thought it was over, there was an aftershock, though not such a big one. That was back in 2011.

Wash. Post, Rocked by the Iran war, the UAE sours on Trump: ‘We got played’

A former DC neighbor sent me a photo of happenings in the reflecting pool, guys in there with poles doing something. The pool seems to keep having problems and several dead ducks have been found nearby.

Here's another photo he sent, of people all gathered around the pool.

My friend also told me,

Walked by your old house this morning.
The outside door to the back yard was open so I took a poke around. Looks like they are doing something with the wood addition in the back. Also saw kids' basket ball hoops set up in the yard.

The National Guard people have been walking all over town for quite a while now. In the past they have been very friendly. But it seems to me that they a getting a bit tired of the job. I think that walking back and forth and back and forth is starting to wear pretty thin with many of them.

I told him:

Thanks, I so appreciated hearing about what's going on in my old neighborhood. I still miss my former home of more than 50 years where I raised my family, but I just couldn't afford to live there any more, nor did I, as one person, need such a big 3-story house. Better to have a family with children living there now. I wonder if they bought it or if they are renters? We don't have any neighbors close by our home out here in the country. Jon is usually away at work at CoolFont, a hotel/resort, where he is right now. I do have our dog with me for company. I still miss you all.
