What more is there to say?

It is still hard to ignore Mr. Trump, who has ways of calling attention to himself. I hope to be done with him early in this posting, then pivot on to other topics. Let's get Trump out of the way. If Biden were still president, we probably wouldn't have so much to discuss.

POLITICO.eu
Trump: "Netanyahu’s a war hero — and ‘I am too’."
(What do readers think about that particular assessment?)

Trump and Putin seemed to get along well in Alaska, but didn't annouce any agreements. ( I will note here that Mr.Trump certainly favors red ties.)

On a recent White House visit, a now more formally attired Zelinksyy admired some of the gold objects that Trump likes to collect. President Biden was not so enamored of gold objects, most of which Trump will probably take
with him when he retires to Mar-a-Lago

This was said to have been done due to "restructuring."

Most Americans believe other countries should recognize Palestinian state, Reuters/Ipsos poll finds | Reuters, https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/most-americans-believe-countries-should-recognize-palestinian-state-reutersipsos-2025-08-20/

Yes, I certainly am one of those Americans favoring the establishment and recognition of a Palestinian state.
I had even expressed such views many years ago, back when Israel was first being established. Though my position was not popular at that time, I still made a point of assisting
Palestinain refugees whose traditional lands
had been confiscated to create Israel. Palestinians in the US did not have many friend back then. I was living in
Southern California and used to pick them up in my car to go out shopping or just took them around to see the sights.
I may have previously recounted an episode some time ago on this blog when I inadvertstly drove a Palestinian refugee across the border to Mexico with a group of friends who had decided to go to Tijuana. That was a big mistake, as our refugee friend was not allowed to leave the US. We just forgot and sodid he. But after spending some hours with all of us stuck on
the Mexican side, simply waiting, finally in the wee hours of the morning, US border patrol let us pass with our Palestinian friend still in the car, but shaking like a leaf.
I did not believe that Palestinians were to blame for the holocaust in any way. The holocaust came from a twisted ideology formulated by Hitler and his German associates. Yet Palestinians bore the brunt of
efforts to compensate Jews.

And even then, I thought that
creating the state of Israel based on an exclusive religion and ethnicity was unwise, despite what
Jews had suffered. And I have
not changed my mind ever since.

There are numerous long-established nations already favoring particular religions, languages, cultural expressions, and skin color. We don't need any more. While diversity of language, dress, and
customs can still be respected,
all people everywhere need to become more inclusive and tolerant of others both in their own countries and everywhere in our increasingly interconnected world.

 I
recently got back in touch with a friend living out on the west coast who is blind and has a guide
dog. She and her partially sighted husband have 2 teenage children with normal sight. But of course, their kids have other problems. Don't nearly all teens have problems? It's a time of transition from childhood to adulthood when youngsters are going through so many changes, both physical and emotional. I went through the teen years with my own 4 kids and with my Cuban foster son while I was a single mother. That was pretty tough. I don't remember my own teen years having been so difficult. Of course, I was a teen quite a long time ago and may well have forgotten.

I note now that the letters coming out here are all in blue when all were black before. Presumably that happened because I posted something (way above) in blue.

Now I've changed it all back to the more usual black. Does it really matter? I kind of like blue.
I could also do pink.

No let's just go again with black. Can I ever get back to black? Now we seem to be stuck with pink!

Finally back to black! Whew!  No, actually, it's showing again now as blue. So I give up.

Wash. Post, Putin had a good hand in Alaska, but the D.C. summit shows he overplayed it Russian President Vladimir Putin’s hard-line approach to resolving the Ukraine conflict doesn’t fit with the White House’s desire for a quick solution.

Putin had greeted an American Orthodox archbishop in Alaska.

Let's change the subject again now.

Wash. Post, It’s happening: People are starting to talk like ChatGPT

Is that actually cause or effect? Is ChatGPT changing people's speech or is human speech shaping ChatGPT? Or both?

Right above, the heading is still showing blue. Now we are mostly back to black again, with the blue actually becoming more muted after this. I did nothing to change the blue. The blog gods and goddesses are still in charge. I have very little control.

Telegraph, Chatbots risk fuelling psychosis, warns Microsoft AI chief Tech executive says ill effects might not be limited to users who already have mental health problems.
I must stay away from Chatbots, as I am already getting confused enough.
Now the color of headings has reverted to more customary hues--I did nothing to cause all this, I swear; it was just the blog deities. Are Chatbots or the deities or both now driving us crazy after all and "fuelling psychosis"? Let's just change the subject once again.

A farmer popped the question with a custom maze. But he had to take his intended up quite high to see it. Did she say "yes"? How then could she possibly have refused?

If folks are still getting legally married, that's a return to tradition, which may not be such a bad thing.

Let's just post this immediately before I go off on an other tanget!
