Donald Trump has been nodding off daily in meetings, but doesn't plan on holding any more meetings in 2025, enabling him to get more rest. His work days are already quite short, only from about noon until dusk, not more than 5 hours at most. He once called Joe Biden "Sleepy Joe," but who is the sleepy guy now? Trump used to be a "night owl." Trump still has 3 more years left in his term, so his fatigue may even get worse. Excessive daytime sleepiness is associated with an increased risk of heart disease, though Trump's heart apparently is still functioning nornally--and, at age 79,.he is reportedly in "excellent health."
Sorry folks, quirks seen above resist removal or correction, so let's tolerate them and move on.
Google says: Excessive sleepiness, or hypersomnia, is a condition characterized by persistent drowsiness and an overwhelming need to sleep during the day, even after adequate rest.
There is no confirmed medical diagnosis indicating that Donald Trump actually has hypersomnia. Public discussion and speculation about his sleep habits and observations of him falling asleep in public
have been ongoing, but are not based on any official medical reports or diagnosis.
Hypersomnia is closely associated with another conditon, ITP,Immune Thrombocytopenia Purpura. that is, bruising or spots on the lower legs, which Trump certainly has already, also spots on his right hand, which he often covers up with make-up. There are medications indicated for ITP, but it is unknown whether Donald Trump is actually taking any of them. The effect of the condition on longevity is variable and depends on many factors, which are unknown in Trump's case.
California Governor Gavin Newsom has dubbed Trump "The Nodfather".
If Mr. Trump should die in office, then his vice president, JD Vance would take over.
Donald Trump has neverexpressed any great fondness for his second-in-command, but Vance is the guy he actually has
chosen.
At age 41, JD Vance has wracked up a lot of accomplishments already, more than Trump
himself at the same age. But Vance has never been president, at least not yet.
Vance is a former Senator from Ohio, a former Marine, and a best-selling author. A Catholic convert, he is married to Usha, a Hindu, with whom he has 3 children. The family represents an
interesting and unusual combination, making a rather compelling picture. Together, they might
attract a varied demographic among the US electorate, including younger voters.
Now that Donald Trump has often been seen nodding off at meetings, he may not make it to the end of
his term. If he should die in office, then Vance would take over. That would mean still more years of a
Republican presidency, even though Democrats dominate the voter rolls.
Since February, Trump is now 46 points underwater with younger voters, who had formerly
supported him.
As an older voter myself, I've been trying to think of any Republican position I would
actually support and have come up completely empty. I am anti-abortion, perhaps unlike most Democrats, as was explained earlier on these pages.
I consider anyone conceived to already have started out on life's journey, with a
right 'to keep on living, But abortion has not been a salient political issue lately.
Pete Hegseth, Trump's ill-chosen Secretary of War, is a man with a very thin military resume, consisting of service in the
National Guard.
He had posted online a revised tale of Franklin the Turtle, showing Franklin
shooting boaters in the water, which certainly did not help exonerate him from killing unarmed
Caribbean boaters. Now he is blaming "the fog of war" for his mistakes and trying to pass on the responsibility to those who carried out his orders.
Is the US currently at war with Caribbean boaters? Some families of
those killed are now seeking legal remedies,as indicated below. Are we taxpayers now responsible for paying
these legal claims and for covering Hegseth's salary as he remains in the job? Will Trump insist that US
taxpayers even finance Hegseth's legal defense? I certainly would object to that.
The administration continues to pursue a deadly campaign against alleged drug boats in international waters, so far, destroying at least 23 boats and killing 87 people. (What about tackling addiction instead at the source, right here in this country?)

The Navy admiral who oversaw the strikes testified differently, according to a report.
The Navy admiral who oversaw lethal strikes on an alleged Venezuelan drug boat in September told lawmakers that the vessel was not headed to the U.S., contradicting claims made by President Donald Trump.
Frank Bradley said in a Thursday briefing that the boat was heading to transfer drugs to a larger boat, which was bound for Suriname, CNN reported

What is the ratio of men to women worldwide?
According to Google, in the entire world, men slightly outnumber women.
Worldwide, men make up approximately 50.27% and women make up 49.73% of the population as of 2025. This translates to a ratio of about 101.07 males for every 100 females. While there is a slight global male majority, this varies significantly by age group, with women outnumbering men in older age brackets and men outnumbering women in younger ones.
Biological birth ratios are slightly male-biased, with an expected ratio of 105 male births per 100 female births worldwide.
After the age of 40 or 50, sex ratios become noticeably more feminine. For every 100 women of a given age, there are about 90 men in their 60s, 65 men in their 80s, and 30 men by the age of 100.
Here in the US, there are slightly more females than males in the overall population, though exact numbers and percentages vary. For example, as of November 2025, there were about 170.3 million US males and 174.6 million females. The sex ratio shows more males are born, but the higher female life expectancy results in more women overall, especially in older age groups.
At my current age, 87, my chances of finding a boyfriend near my own age are practically nil, but I am
lucky to be living these days with one of those increasingly scarce men, with my son Jon, who is past 50.
That's just fine with me.
Actually, if I even met a rare available single
male my own age, I would not be likely to be attracted to him, nor vice versa. (In fact, I already know
a couple of such men, good friends but not potenial romanic partners as the spark is simply not there,)
The chance of mutual attraction at this age wouldbe like finding a needle in a haystack. Or to use another popular metaphor, both of us already might
have "too much water under the bridge."
NY Post,Latvia has a greater shortage of men than almost any country.
These women were forced to enact a special “man-date.” A nationwide shortage of men in Latvia has increasingly forced women to hire “husbands for an hour” to help with their household chores. According to a recent report by Eurostat, Latvia boasts 15.5% more women than men – over three times the average rate in the European Union. Meanwhile, over the age of 65, there are twice as many women as men,per the World Atlas.
Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia have more women than men, leading to a shortage of potential partners for women. Men have higher death rates and emigrate to other countries more often than women.

A friend visiting South America has just sent me some photos from Argentina. where I've traveled
at least 3 times, but not recently, and now probably won't ever be going back. So I very much appreciate
his photos and his report. Spanish is spoken there but with a very distinct and recognizable accent,
identifying it immediately as Argentine. The equivalent in English might be an Irish or Scottish brogue
--or maybe even an American accent for those coming here from somewhere else.
It is, of course, just the beginning of summer now, not winter, in Argentina. Here are some of the
photos my friend sent.
Outdoor markets like this one, just set up for the day, are common throughout Latin America.
Downtown Buenos Aires, but I'm noi sure where this is..
My friend told me about his trip::
The most impressive place we visited in Buenos Aires was the former naval mechanics school, which was once converted into a jail/torture center for detainees. Many of the prisoners were drugged, loaded onto airplanes, & dumped into the ocean. Horrible.! After my travel companion had returned to the U.S., I went by myself to the northwestern city of Salta. There I stayed in the tourist area & did not see the whole town, but the standard of living seemed fairly good. Very few homeless people, in contrast to the U.S. I had a day-long tour of Jujuy & a portion of the Andean region, which reminded me of Bolivia (although not as poor). The only drawback to the trip was the return home, which was an ordeal due to a 9-hr. delay which messed up my flight back to the U.S.
