What more is there to say?

Well, folks, an entire blog posting that was here just a few minutes earlier, including numerous photos, now has completely vanished. How did that happen? After all the effort that I had put in, perhaps I need to go back again to copying and pasting each posting in sections into a document first. Or perhaps some new viruses are now at work? Does it really matter, since events are ongoing whether or not we actually document them?

I'd mentioned there that a dusting of snow out on our grass had soon melted, then had also posted an image of that light snow. The ducks were no longer at the CoolFont pond when we went there, as it was frozen over. So they must have gone south where fishing is still possible.

I'd also mentioned that when the first frost had hit in December at upper altitudes in Honduras, that had caused much excitement about the appearance of "snow." Houses in those rural areas were being heated only by wood on the fire, used also for cooking, as was common here in the US over a century ago. Those same rural Honduran homes had no electricity, relying only on kerosene lamps for nighttime illumination. And sewing was done on pedal sewing machines. That's all still happening there right now.

Many rural areas of the world are only now converting to electric light and heat.

------------------------

I don't know about my readers, but I ha been having trouble reading the blog with the "normal" font, so have now increased the size to "medium."

=====================

I'd also said before the entire former posting had vanished  that the mysterious occupants of the "castle" are back in town, as their green and orange gargoyle is back up there on the roof again, flapping its brightly-colored wings in the breeze  And then I'd posted that same rooftop gargoyle with its bright wings right here on the blog. I also had mentioned that we wouldn't even know if we actually saw those folks in town, as we've never even met them. But now that green and orange gargoyle image is gone and I can no longer find it anywhere, not even online. The only gargoyles I can find now are those at the castle entrance. And since the rest of that long posting also simply vanished. I won't even try to reconstruct the whole darn thing! However, I'll try to replace what still comes to mind.

A former DC neighbor may now have solved the strange mystery of why my post of the inflated colorful orange and green gargoyle up on the castle roof had disappeared, taking my entire post along with it,

She said:

The person who had posted it could have taken it down!

And possibly in doing so, the whole bog post vanished!

I had also shown an image of the abandoned Australian beach after the mass shooting there.

Mourners had then gathered near the beach.

Australia already has very strict gun control laws. But the situation was complicated
by having 2 shooters involved at the same time/

The authorities reported that they had recovered six guns legally owned by one of the shooters, a 50-year-old man who was shot dead. His 24-year-old son was then being treated at a hospital. These men haven’t been named yet by officials. But their motives appeared to be clear, Australia’s leaders said, in this targeted attack on Australian Jews celebrating the start of Hanukkah.

Here back home in the USA: ABC News, reports on another camalmity.

Rob Reiner's son booked on suspicion of murder Director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer, were found dead in their Los Angeles home on Sunday, according to the family, and the couple's son, Nick Reiner, is now in custody.

It is sadly true that most murders in this country are not committed by some random stranger or by a surprise intruder, instead almost always by a close family member with a grievance or grudge, as in the Reiner case. How many Americans are actually harmed by an unknown intruder? Actually, very few, while those killed by a family member are legion.

Trump used the Reiner murders to highlight his own achievements, .
He said that Rob Reiner “was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness.”
Trump seemed here to blame the Reiner murders on Mr. Reiner's opposition to Trump himself.

Rob Reiner had certainly been a vocal critic of Donald Trump, calling him in a 2017 interview “mentally unfit” to be president and “the single-most unqualified human being to ever assume the presidency of the United States.” (I myself actually agree with that assessment.)

Speaking at the White House to reporters later on Monday, Trump doubled down on his criticism of Reiner when he was asked if he stood by his post. Using the third person, Trump said Reiner “was a deranged person as far as Trump is concerned.”

I really no longer remember what else was said on that lost post, as at age 87, my memory is not the best. I am lucky to have recovered this much. From here on out, it's all lnew. .

And then in Australia:

Amed Amed, a Syrian immigrant who had intervened in Australia to keep the gun from one of the shooters, is now recovering from wounds inflicted by that shooter. He was visited in the hospital by
Chris Minns, Premier of New South Wales..

Desr friends and faithful readers, let's just post this now and start out fresh next time.
